The Data Age is here!
A quarter-century of digital transformation is accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. It leads us to a new era: the Data Age. A new worldwide survey indicates that 86% of organizations are not ready for added waves of data from new digital technologies. Think Artificial intelligence, blockchain, 5G, augmented reality and more!
This is a survey among 2,259 IT and business leaders and includes more than 250 Dutch respondents. Some striking results are:
- The percentage of organizations with more than half their data dark (untapped, unknown, unused) rose 10% year-over-year.
- These organizations expect their overall amount of data to grow 5x by 2025.
- Only 42% of respondents feel they understand the technologies they predict will soon transform their own organizations.
Dutch leaders expect their data volume to increase by more than 7x, significantly higher than the global average of 4.8x. More than half of Dutch respondents (54%) believe their company cannot keep up with the pace at which data grows.
We are at the beginning of a new era. To thrive in this new age, every organization needs a complete view of its data — real-time insight, with the ability to take real-time action.
